Nicholas Sparks...

I just have to say how much I love Nicholas Sparks...I know that he has become a pretty popular author due to the success of The Notebook but I discovered him long before that and have always loved him. He reminds me everytime how much I love to read although I don't that often. I just got done reading Dear John tonight...it took me 4 hours to read the whole thing. Not unusual for me..I have this obsessive thing that books are like movies to me and I have to read them from front to back in as little time as possible..This is why I don't read that often, I rarely have the time or take the time to read a book for 4 hours straight! But this one is great read and worth every teardrop I cried!

So it's been awhile..as usual...

I am not very good at keeping up with this whole blogging thing, I'm trying though..We just got back from Hershey Park! We spent two nights camping at Hershey's Highmeadow Campground..in a tent!!! We met my mom and my step dad and my brother and his girlfreind there. We had a really good time at Hershey and Chocolate World but monday morning we woke up soaking wet in our tent and now I'm washing EVERYTHING because it all got wet. That part of the trip wasn't that fun. Keith and I argued all the way home because I didn't want to drive...very scary for me but he wasn't feeling well and he didn't want to drive and the weather was really bad so what should have taken us about 3.5 hours took about 4.5...but we got home fine. Glad we did something nice for the kids before summer is over...

I've been tagged....

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

Let's see it was Aug of 98 and I was home in Klamath for the summer before college started. Working at a gas station for 4 hours a day! and I think around this time was when Natalie and I went on our road trip to my school and I got my first speeding ticket on the way home!

2. My house is usually a mess unless I'm expecting company, I"m the person that will stay up all night the night before to make sure my house looks like a model home and this is why I"m cranky at all the parties and get togethers I throw! and why I don't like it when people stop by my house unexpected...

3. I'm pretty much always on time or really early, unless there are circumstances that are out of my control! It ruins my day to start out something late...

My pretty girl!!

Every year we go to the same place to watch fireworks, Cornwall Park. This year was no different. We go early enough to get the spot we have every year and we just wait and play until the festivities start. My brother and his girlfriend joined us, it was a nice day.

It's been awhile!

It has been way too long since I got on here I don't even know where to begin. I was having a little bit of doubt about this whole blogging thing thinking that no body even reads them anyway. I feel like I read everyone else's though..Does that make me nosey or just interested!! lol Well anyway's I also have this obsession with finishing something that I started and to me this is an unfinished project sooooo here I am...back in the blogging world! A little update, Cassidy not only got into the pre-k program but she got into the school that was my first choice and it's a five day a week program!!! YAY!!! Only a couple hours a day but still....And Caleb's final report card for 1st grade was soo good that it made me cry. I've never been so proud of him before, he worked really hard this last quarter on his reading and finally is at grade level. AND he improved 4 other grades!!! Keith and I are just dealing with the summer woes, more work means later hours:( We try to do something every weekend though so that we feel like we see eachother. A couple weekends ago we went to the city to meet a freind of mine from highschool there. It was great seeing her after 12 yrs!! And meeting her husband and walking around times square together!

Pictures

Here's a few more pics of the kids at the park on Memorial Day...

Memorial Day

It's been awhile since I wrote on here, I've been taking pics but I haven't been very good at the blogging part! We went to my dad's on Memorial Day this year for a BBQ. It was a beautiful day!! Then later that day we picked up our nephew Ethan. He lives in Florida and was here for a couple weeks and we wanted to surprise the kids. So we told them we had to leave Grandpa's to go get their surprise! They were sooo excited! We spent the whole next day at the park playing baseball, football, basketball and on a paddle boat and then we had a break and got some ice cream. It was a really nice Memorial Day for us...

Caleb's birthday is coming up!!

Well my little boy will be 7 yrs old next week!:( I can't believe that the time has gone by so fast! We arent' having a big party this year for him, they stress me out!!! With Cass and him having their birthday's so close it's hard to do two huge parties back to back. So this year his bday is on a tues and he has school so I am taking his class cupcakes and goody bags at the end of the day. But just so he would have a cake this year to blow out candles, Nana got him one. So on Mother's Day we had a little moment for Caleb's birthday! I swear my kids are going to grow up thinking that their birthday's are a week long event. With all the grandparent's and family their birthday's are very drawn out!

Fishing with Peepa

On Mother's Day Caleb went fishing with Peepa and he caught about 20 fish as he would put it " I caught the stupid fish and two smart fish." :) He is a natural fisherman, he's only gone fishing about 3 times and every time he's the only one that catches any fish!!!

Cass's NEW Barbie bike!

Cassidy got a new bike for her birthday from Grandma and Grandpa and Daddy put it together for her. She was so excited, it is her first bike ever..I know I"m a bad mother..not even a tricycle for this little girl!! So she was VERY excited and of course Barbie had to come along for the first ride but she couldn't find her clothes! So now when you see the pics your focused on the naked barbie instead of Cassidy on her new bike riding it for the first time!!

Caleb's First Game

Well Caleb's first game of the season was yesterday! He was thrilled and out of control as usual but the coach this year is really good with the kids and I think that Caleb may actually learn a lot if he pays attention. For the game he played 2nd base and it's tball but the coach pitches to the kids that can hit without the t. So it's going really well so far! He made a great catch at second and threw a perfect throw to first base and the first basemen caught it for an out! It was great!! He was sooo happy that we were all so excited that he ran all the way to the pitcher''s position to get the next ball to do it again!! lol

Great news today!

Well I guess it isn't exactly great news yet but it's a start! I found out today that my school district just got a grant to open pre-kindergarten classes for the next year! I have been waiting for these for a couple years and I just am soo happy that it happened this year, because you have to be 4 by Dec 1st and well Cass just turned 4! Perfect timing right!!!??? I'm so excited at the thought of getting a few hours a day to myself to do whatever I like and also so excited that Cassidy will beable to start "school" earlier and learn some social skills before she starts kindergarten! I feel like it's a great opportunity for our entire family! As much as I love being a stay at home mom, I'm ready for a break!!!!!!!!!! The only downfall is that it's a random process so if she doesn't get chosen I'll still be in the same place for another year and a half but it's worth a shot!!! Pray for us!!!! :)
